ek9_version
Returns the EK9 compiler toolchain version string, e.g. '0.0.1-0'.
When to use it
'Which EK9 compiler version is this' is one call with {} - the toolchain version string for a bug report, diagnostic bundle or compatibility check.
When not to use it
- The project's OWN package version (from the package directive) - use
ek9_query_package_version. - The full package directive (name, version, deps) - use
ek9_query_package. - Build state (last outcome, freshness) rather than a version string - use
ek9_query_build_status.
Details
Pure static read of the compiler-binary version baked in at build time — no workspace, compile phase or symbol tables involved, so no trustLevel is emitted. The value is constant for the lifetime of the binary: call once per session and reuse from conversation history rather than re-invoking. Same value as the CLI 'ek9 -V'.
Arguments
